2nd Founder's Day at Delhi Public School, GBN

Delhi Public School, GBN celebrated its second Founder’s Day on November 24, 26 & 27, 2016. The three day event witnessed the presence of eminent dignitaries. The Chief Guest on November 24, 2016 was Mr. Ramanuj Singh, City Magistrate of Noida. Along with other distinguished dignitaries, Mr. Munesh Kumar, DIOS, Gautam Buddh Nagar also graced the occasion. The event of November 26, 2016 was presided by Mr. Ravi Vira Gupta, Chairman, School Managing Committee, along with Mr. Vineet Nayyar, the Pro Vice Chairperson of the School Managing Committee and Ms. Reva Nayyar, Member School Managing Committee. On November 27, 2016 the portals of the School was blessed by the presence of Mr. Gulaam Khwaja Moinudeen, Grand Nephew of Dr. APJ Abdul Kalam. Distinguished Principals of other Delhi Public Schools and neighbouring schools of NCR also attended the Founder’s Day. The function began with the lighting of the lamp by the Chief Guests and other distinguished guests. The momentous day was testified by the Parent Representatives, Grandparents and Parents of the school. The opening song of Tagore, rendered by the choir, “Ekla Cholo Re”; “ Walk alone friend”, was highly motivational and was extremely appreciated by the audience. The School Presentation chronicled the many achievements of the students. The School Band, Crescendo, presented ‘Taal Kalam’; an instrumental piece composed by the Music Department based, on raag “Charukeshi”. The audience was spellbound by the rendition. This was followed by the Welcome of the Chief Guests and other esteemed guests by the Comperes of the show. On this occasion the Brochure titled “The journey of the Scientist; Kalam ” and the Sports Souvenir titled “Udita” were released by the Chief Guest ,other notable guests and the Principal, Ms. Indira Kohli. Gauri Gupta, a class XI student, who participated in the National Para Athletic Meet and competed with the Arjuna Award recipient Ms. Deepa Mallik in the Shot-put and Javelin throw, was felicitated with a cheque of Rs 3000/-. The Art Department also organized the “Kalam Art Memorial Gallery” which showcased the talent of our budding Picassos under the stewardship of the teachers. The evening became delightfully memorable and entertaining with the enactment of the play, ”The journey of the Scientist; Kalam ” which was staged for the occasion that evoked in all, a sense of excitement and experience of unparalleled achievement. The play was a perfect blend of talent and hard work. “The Journey of a Scientist: Kalam” was an extravaganza which was not only entertaining but highly motivational too. The play enthralled the audience and developed among the students sensitivity, self-confidence and team spirit, as the innate sterling talents of the students blossomed into joyful expression as they performed on the stage. The vote of thanks was proposed by the Head Girl, Jigyasa Sahay and the Head Boy, Himanshu Payal. The Mega Event culminated with a motivating address given by the Chief Guest to the audience, who appreciated the hard work behind the success story of the Founder's Day.
